Introduction

The original objective of international fashion weeks is to allow buyers to preview seasonal collections that will appear in stores. Shows developed by international fashion houses have elevated these professional events to the rank of most expected and impactful artistic productions worldwide.

The short course Fashion Event Planning is aimed at providing students with an introduction on the different components involved in the organisation and execution of a fashion show.

In line with IFA Paris’ pedagogical strategy, this short course has been created with a practical and pragmatic focus. From understanding how to create a fitting technical sheet, to ateliers in gastronomy and oenology geared to select the perfect show catering, students will benefit from a fully immersive experience.

Teaching and Learning Strategy:
This course is based on a balanced mix between theoretical modules, workshops and practices. The overarching idea across all the components is to improve participants’ awareness and improve their overall creativity so that they can produce the most impacting, unique and coherent fashion event.

A Transversal project will be presented on the first day of the program. Students will be given a brief by their client in order to conceptualize and execute their event.

In Paris, participants to this short course will be producing a fashion show featuring collections of our graduates from the Bachelor of Fashion Design and Technology and MA Contemporary Fashion Design. This is a large-scale event that can be a great addition to the professional portfolio of a future fashion event planner.
