The Dream Exhibition in Venice Ends with a Bang

Posted on 22/09/2022

The exhibition entitled The Dream, made up of the collection of students from the Master of Arts in Contemporary Fashion Design (Tanja Haldmayr, Gaukhar Mamytova, Ganzul Dolingor, Eugenia Adjetey), ended on September 11 with a closing ceremony. As a reminder, this exhibition was exhibited at the Galleria San Vidal during the Biennale D'Arte in Venice since July 6 and addressed environmental issues while exploring the role of art as a call to responsibility in the face of the climate emergency. Among the looks of the students, added that of Anastasia Grigoryeva, lecturer at IFA Paris.

The artists in the exhibition want to make as many people as possible aware that it is time to act quickly for the climate, that every day that passes is another day where inaction feeds the brutal climate imbalance we face. Ironically, this exhibition took place in one of the hottest summers in the planet's history, with the Arctic Circle registering 15 degrees and severe river drought across Europe. Under these circumstances, Shim Eco Artivism has mobilized to gather and give visibility to artists who work with various techniques, from traditional to the most innovative, all with the sole intention of waking the viewer from the sleep of indifference.

At the end of this exhibition, the report is very positive, in two months, more than 7,000 visitors have been reached by the exhibition, a very important result compared to other exhibitions in Venice in the same period. The Dream has been classified by the Italian Ministry of Culture as one of the best exhibitions in Italy this summer, an exceptional result if we take into account the important number of exhibitions that took place at the Biennale d'Arte in Venice.

In order to close this successful exhibition, a party was organized in the open spaces of the Arsenale del Venezia. An event that was very much appreciated by the public and during which several award-winning short films were screened as well as Asphyxia, directed by Mélanie Mollard and Chloé Desreumaux, two IFA Paris students in MBA Fashion Management - Media Major. In addition, the evening started with the screening of the film NO an ugly story produced by MasTassini Studio in which appears the recycled plastic cape made by IFA Paris students for Alexandra Mas in a project to denounce the excess of plastic pollution.

The exhibition will take place every two years in Venice as part of the Biennale d'Arte, so see you in 2024 for the next edition.
