IFA Paris Istanbul, Turkey’s leading fashion institute, combined French fashion heritage with the modern world of fashion to present the designs of its senior students in a fashion show held at the Palais de France, owned by the French Embassy.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary in Paris this year and operating its Istanbul Campus for more than nine years, IFA Paris has graduated more than 6000 students and distinguished many of those graduates to leading brands of the international fashion world.
The fashion show, which included the graduation collections of the 3rd year students of the Fashion Design & Technology Undergraduate Program, emerged with internationally-blended, sustainable and innovative designs that preserve cultural harmony.
Together with all design program students, the IFA Paris Istanbul team worked for nearly a year to ensure that their vision is properly reflected. After the graduate students prepared their designs, they presented their collections to a jury and soon after started preparing the fashion show.
The show presented the collections of Aitadz Lalaeva, Asil Lawabna, Gamar Hasanova, Lynn Abdul Al, Negin Sadat Naji, Simge Çam, Syeda Kayanath, Tasneema Karima, Tuba Mueen, Warde Jubran, graduates of IFA Paris Istanbul Bachelor Fashion Design & Technology program, as well as the designs of students from the Paris Campus. In attendance, there were well-known local and global designers, influencers in Turkish media and many members of the press.
IFA Paris CEO Jean-Baptiste Andreani and Creative Director Jase King also took part in the organization of the fashion show. King curated and orchestrated the perfect sequence to best showcase the students’ collections.
Jase King narrated the process of human psychology and quest through masks with messaging on the global pandemic. With the masks he designed, he brings a new breath to expression and styling in the fashion industry, as well. The masks that he combined with the collections left the audience fascinated. Apart from the masks he designed, King prepared a special collection, inspired by the candies of Istanbul, the grand bazaar and the city’s cicada sounds. He also mentioned that the city of Istanbul has always been a great source of inspiration for him.
In attendance, Deputy Consul Antoine Alhéritière and his wife. Both Alhéritière and Istanbul Campus founder Adile Cretallaz gave a speech expressing their feelings and thoughts during the special event.
Istanbul campus Bachelor Fashion Design & Technology students Julio Fanchini, Rosa Salehi and Bachelor Fashion Marketing student Ali Roshandel also took part in the event with their determination to help the event run smoothly. They even got to interview designer Zeynep Tosun, one of the highlights of the event.
More than twenty articles were published in the national broadcasting circle about the event, in which the press showed special appreciation. These publications help to raise awareness on IFA Paris Istanbul approach, providing education that combines the deep culture and history of Istanbul with a European design approach. IFA Paris would like to thank all members of the press and attendees who helped realize this event.
