Once again this year, IFA Paris left its mark on the largest sports business fair, ISPO, in Munich. A dedicated participant since 2017, the school has strengthened its presence over the years in this renowned event, becoming a key player in the convergence between fashion and sport.
Two students, Hawi Midekssa and Eugenia Adjetey, represented IFA Paris at this major event. Their participation in the Academy Master Class, led by Nora Kühner and Cornelia Sievers, was a unique learning experience. As experts in circularity in fashion and sport, they shared insights on the latest trends and best practices in sustainability in the industry during a multi-day hybrid workshop. It was a creative meeting of design and fashion students from around the world, allowing them to explore the potential of clothing and equipment for enhanced performance.
Some of our partners were also present at the fair, such as Woolmart and Circle Sportwear, strategic collaborators that enabled us to explore new ideas, exchange knowledge, and inspire the next generation of fashion designers specializing in sports.
Meeting industry professionals at the ISPO fair provided our students with an exceptional opportunity to create valuable connections and explore career opportunities. This immersion in the sports business world reinforces IFA Paris’s vision as an educational institution that prepares its students to thrive in demanding professional environments.
Today, fashion and sport are more closely linked than ever, with notable advancements in technical textiles and sportswear. In the context of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, this issue takes on special significance. Exhibitions at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) and the Palais Galliera in Paris highlight the fascinating history of fashion in sports, emphasizing the crucial role of design in this alliance.
The ISPO fair confirmed this trend, showcasing technical innovations and advancements in sportswear. IFA Paris stands out as a visionary school that fully embraces this evolution, integrating the latest technologies and sustainable concepts into its teaching.
Furthermore, this trend is reinforced by the increasing demand for designers to create sportswear that combines performance and aesthetics. Through its partnerships and active involvement in this industry, IFA Paris positions itself as one of the few schools that prominently emphasizes the intrinsic link between fashion and sport.
By training the future creators and leaders of the industry, IFA Paris contributes to shaping a future where sportswear is not only functional but also a vector of artistic expression and sustainability. As fashion and sport continue to converge, IFA Paris remains at the forefront of this exciting fusion, ready to inspire and shape the future of the industry.
