The international fashion school IFA Paris is proud of the success of its students and alumni, and never misses an opportunity to showcase their work. For this interview, we spoke to Fernanda Del Callejo, Designer, Entrepreneur, and former MBA student who has set up her own label.
Who are you?
My name is Fernanda del Callejo Designer and I’m from Mexico.
Why did you choose IFA Paris for your studies?

I’ve always loved fashion and ever since I was a little girl I wanted to become a stylist. When I went to university, I ended up studying fashion marketing and communication in Barcelona, and then I went to Paris to do an MBA in Fashion Management. For me, the most exciting thing about studying at IFA Paris was the Parisian environment. All the luxury brands and shops, restaurants and fashion people that are part of Parisian life were the best thing for me. The experience and career of the professors at IFA Paris was also very interesting and I learned a lot from them.
What did you do after graduating from IFA Paris?
After graduating, I came back to Mexico and created my eponymous clothing brand: Fernanda del Callejo. Even though I didn’t study fashion design, I ended up becoming a stylist and I applied most of the things I learnt at IFA Paris to create my brand, because they gave me the right tools and we did a lot of projects about it.

What is your brand concept?
The main concept of my brand is to offer good quality clothes for women. Feminine, classic designs with a touch of trend, sophistication and versatility. It’s also very important to remain a slow fashion brand.
Any advice for students or future students who want to create their own brand?
My main advice for people who want to create their own clothing brand is to follow their instincts and not give up when the going gets tough. Your idea is important and if you’re going to show it to the world, do it without fear or hesitation.
