Our Student Sofia Garcia wins the Winter Ball Design Challenge

Posted on 24/02/2025

The IFA Paris campus in Istanbul is proud to highlight the achievement of Sofia Garcia, a Fashion Design student. Her talent and creativity were recognized at the Winter Ball Design Challenge, organized by Browzwear. Her 3D-designed gown was selected as one of the winning creations in this prestigious competition, which brought together talents from around the world.

Where innovation meets imagination

Browzwear, a platform specializing in 3D digital solutions for the fashion industry, launched the “Winter Ball” challenge, inviting its users to unleash their creativity and design pieces inspired by the magic of winter.

Thanks to her expertise in 3D fashion design, Sofia Garcia, a third-year Bachelor Fashion Design student, brought her vision to life with precision, demonstrating the potential of digital technology in the fashion industry.

More than just a creation, Sofia’s gown is a testament to the power of innovation and imagination. By merging technology and creativity, she illustrates how 3D fashion design is shaping the future of the industry, opening new possibilities for the designers of tomorrow.

A tribute to the magic of winter

Sofia Garcia envisioned a gown adorned with delicate snowflakes and shimmering pearls. Her creation, which beautifully captures the essence of winter, impressed the judges with its attention to detail and storytelling. She is among the five winners selected by Browzwear.

When asked about her inspiration, she explains:

"Although it rarely snows in most parts of my country [Portugal], my favorite aspect of winter is precisely that: the beauty of frost forming intricate patterns on windows and the uniqueness of each snowflake. This is why I drew inspiration from these elements for this challenge. My design tells the story of snowfall in the only way it can be preserved: through a snow globe. It features handing snowflakes and custom crystal beads, capturing the magic of snowflakes falling and the beginning of frost."

IFA Paris is proud to support talents like Sofia, who push the boundaries of creativity and inspire the next generation of designers. Congratulations to her and all the participants of Browzwear’s Winter Ball Design Challenge!
