IFA Paris Istanbul at the Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show: Creative Experimentation Meets International Exposure
Posted on 21/05/2025
In April 2025, students and faculty from IFA Paris Istanbul took part in two key events held in Bursa, the strategic heart of Turkey’s textile industry: the Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show Trend Camp, followed by the professional fair Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show. These events offered students the opportunity to explore the latest developments in the fashion industry and connect with leading professionals in the field.
Trend Camp: A Day of Inspiration and Creation
Organized at Bursa Business School in collaboration with IFA Paris Istanbul, the Trend Camp brought together experts and creatives around upcoming trends and fashion innovations. Students explored the major themes shaping the Spring/Summer 2026 and Fall/Winter 2026-2027 seasons, while reflecting on the social, environmental, and technological shifts influencing today’s fashion landscape.
Throughout the day, IFA Paris Istanbul instructors led a series of engaging talks:
-Mert Çelebi, designer and IFA teacher, delivered an in-depth analysis of trends through the lens of sustainability, illustrating how color and fabric choices are influenced by societal change.
-Senem Kula shared her vision of future fashion that merges artisanal craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, focusing on practices such as circularity, sustainable materials, and smart textiles.
To close the day, a nature-inspired design workshop co-led by Mert Çelebi and Kaan Doğru invited participants to create imaginative and eco-conscious designs using organic shapes, textures, and colors found in the natural world.
The Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show: A Dive into the Textile Industry
Following the Trend Camp, the IFA Paris Istanbul campus participated in the Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show, an international fair organized in partnership with the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This major event gathered textile professionals, students, designers, and representatives from global institutions, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
The conference program, titled “Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show Dialogs,” expanded on the discussions from the Trend Camp. Topics ranged from textile innovation and luxury brand strategy to the impact of AI and 3D technology on fashion.
Highlights included:
-Forecasting color and material trends with a focus on sustainability
-Building a luxury brand from concept to launch
-Sustainable fashion approaches blending craftsmanship, circularity, and innovation
Other seminars explored emerging uses of 3D design, artificial intelligence, and digital pattern-making systems in the fashion industry.
A Gateway to the Future of Fashion
By participating in these two key moments of the Turkish Fashion Fabrics Show, IFA Paris Istanbul reaffirmed its commitment to a learning approach rooted in the real-world challenges of the industry.
These experiences allowed students to immerse themselves in the realities of the fashion world, engage with experts, and draw inspiration from cutting-edge innovations in an international context.
