IFA Paris x HONOR Competition for Fashion Design Students

Posted on 24/04/2026

IFA Paris partners with the technology brand Honor and Pépinière 27 to offer its Fashion Design students a unique competition. Participants are invited to create fashion illustrations designed to be applied to smartphone cases, as part of a comprehensive project ranging from concept development to prototype production. Two winners will see their designs produced and will receive HONOR devices (smartphone, tablet, accessories), as well as the opportunity to visit the brand’s headquarters in China.

An immersive competition, from concept to production

Through this competition, IFA Paris students from the Fashion Design program are invited to create a fashion illustration designed to be applied to a HONOR smartphone case, in collaboration with the Pépinière 27.

After registering, they will receive all the necessary materials to develop their design (files, physical support), taking into account product-related constraints. Each participant will then be required to:

  • propose an original creation adapted to the case format,
  • present their concept through a short presentation video,
  • submit their project on a dedicated platform, accompanied by an explanatory video showcasing their creative approach.

A public voting phase will complement the evaluation, followed by a final selection. The selected projects will be developed into physical prototypes, then presented to a jury during a dedicated event.

The winner will receive a complete HONOR set (smartphone, tablet, headphones), as well as an exclusive experience in China: an exceptional trip, the 2026 Art & Technology China Tour (a visit to R&D centers of the largest Chinese companies and a cultural discovery of the country).

A professional experience at the heart of the curriculum

This competition fully reflects IFA Paris’ teaching approach: placing students in real-life situations, facing concrete challenges.

They will not only create, but also adapt their design to a specific medium, structure and explain their approach, and defend their project orally. This type of exercise helps develop essential skills: applied creativity, attention to detail, presentation abilities, and understanding of production processes.

“This partnership with IFA Paris is a natural fit for HONOR. Paris is the beating heart of design, and with the HONOR 600, we wanted to offer a platform for technological and artistic expression for the talents of tomorrow,” says Pierre-Alain Houard, Marketing Director at HONOR France.

“This competition perfectly illustrates the essence of our work over the past 15 years: we learn to become entrepreneurs through action,” adds Victor Silvestre, Co-founder of PEPINIERE 27.

The HONOR competition offers visibility to participants, notably through the promotion of projects and public involvement in the selection process. The final phase, designed as a prototype presentation, also gives students the opportunity to showcase their work and engage directly with professionals.

Fashion and technology: new fields of expression

This project highlights a key challenge for today’s designers: the expansion of fashion into new mediums.

By working on an everyday technological object, students explore a different way of designing their creations. Fashion design has always been more than garments. As new objects become part of how we express our personal style, they become fashion accessories in their own right, and the smartphone case is no exception.

“This partnership with HONOR perfectly reflects our commitment to connecting our students with real industry challenges. It allows them to explore new creative territories at the intersection of fashion and technology,” explains Jean-Baptiste Andréani, Director of IFA Paris.

This collaboration with HONOR and Pépinière 27 also reflects a commitment to openness: connecting fashion with innovation and entrepreneurial dynamics, while maintaining strong creative standards.

This is not the first time IFA Paris has bridged fashion and innovation through brand collaboration. Discover our Avantex Paris x IFA Paris partnership.
