IFA Paris Uses AI to Detect Future Fashion Trends

Posted on 17/11/2023

The IFA Paris fashion school is at the cutting edge when it comes to integrating the latest technologies applied to fashion into its academic programs. We are excited to present a new partnership with T-Fashion, a trend forecasting platform powered by artificial intelligence (AI), which will revolutionize the way students approach fashion trends.

Training in Fashion Technologies and AI

The "Fashion Trend" module taught by Sophie Lapaz to second-year students in the Bachelor Fashion Design places particular emphasis on the use of new technologies. The course aims to familiarize students with the crucial importance of trend forecasting in fashion and design, and the associated processes and tools. These include key references such as WGSN, T FASHION and THE TRENDS BOOKS. Students will have the opportunity to analyze in detail the most recent fashion shows and create a trend report highlighting the major trends for the coming season, illustrated by images of creations spotted on the catwalks.

T-Fashion, IFA Paris' partner of choice, stands out for its platform using artificial intelligence trained in trend forecasting and generative design. Leveraging data from social networks, the start-up creates customized trend reports, providing designers and brands with objective information at affordable costs.

Thanks to this partnership, IFA Paris students have access to the T-Fashion platform. This initiative will enable students to create trend forecast reports based on data collected from social networks and analyzed by AI. The pilot program that will inaugurate this collaboration is the Bachelor Fashion Design & Technology in which students will have the opportunity to explore trend forecasting as early as the first semester. Later, students will also be able to exploit the platform's generative design functionality. They can enter keywords into the platform, which will then recommend fashion designs.IFA Paris relies on T-Fashion to provide its students with access to its data and AI platform.
