IFA Paris Exhibited its Bachelor Fashion Design Creations at the Who's Next Trade Show!

Posted on 09/10/2023

During the Who's Next ready-to-wear trade show held from September 2nd to 4th, IFA Paris renewed its collaboration with this iconic event in the fashion industry. This occasion allowed the school to showcase the exceptional creations of its students.

For three consecutive editions, our institution has had the honor of being a partner of this globally renowned trade show. The previous year, our school left a lasting impression with memorable fashion shows and an unforgettable exhibition. This year, our presence dazzled visitors with an exhibition featuring seven extraordinary looks, all the result of the undeniable talent of our students. These bold creations, infused with innovation and artistic vision, unequivocally embody the future of fashion.

The Bachelor Fashion Designstudents behind this exhibition are Eugénia Adjetey, Yaëlle Le Goff, Dua Pichaya, Marie Bashay, Tayler Schumann, Gloria Hohenstein, and Uluka Nkechi Rita. Some of these creations were presented at our end-of-year fashion show, where our students interpreted the theme "Adaptive Resilience."

The central theme of Who’s Next for the September 2023 edition was "Back-to-school," and the international fashion school IFA Paris had the honor of exhibiting looks and hosting a workshop in the "Doodle" area of the trade show. The selection of looks was aligned with this theme and space. Visitors could admire Eugénia's natural dyeing work, which created unique patterns on her creation, as well as Rita's creation of a dress by knotting fabrics together. Each look was carefully chosen to fit the theme through original prints and intertwined shapes. To further bring the doodle concept to life, fashion sketches by our students were displayed, and a workshop was conducted. Our Bachelor Fashion Design program coordinator, Delphine Durieux, demonstrated the construction of a fashion silhouette, giving visitors the keys and techniques to create this type of sketch.

This exhibition achieved undeniable success, attracting the attention of key players in the fashion industry present at the trade show. It's important to remember that Who's Next plays a crucial role as a gateway to the international market. Serving as a cornerstone of the wholesale sector for nearly three decades, it represents much more than a mere opportunity for French brands; it now also appeals to an international audience. This season, no less than 58% of exhibitors were from abroad, compared to about 51% in the January edition.

With over 40,000 visitors and the participation of more than 1,300 French and international brands, the Who's Next event does not go unnoticed. As always, industry professionals, accounting for 54.2%, were primarily retailers, concept stores, and department stores, with Who's Next proudly designated as the "temple of wholesale."

The success of this new collaboration with Who's Next reaffirms the importance, for our school, of cultivating quality relationships with leaders and innovators in the industry. These partnerships provide our students with invaluable opportunities to thrive in the competitive world of fashion, while they, in turn, contribute with their exceptional talent and creativity.
