3 Free Fashion Exhibitions in Paris to Explore This Fall

Posted on 06/10/2025

Fall is the perfect time to reconnect with culture and spark your creative thinking. For students in fashion school, it’s also a chance to find inspiration outside the classroom by exploring exhibitions that blend history, innovation and contemporary aesthetics, without spending a cent.

Here are three free events to check out in Paris, perfect for feeding your visual culture and supporting your creative projects from the start of the academic year.

“Sac, sac, sac. More Than a Bag” – Printemps Haussmann

Beneath the iconic Art Deco dome of the Printemps Haussmann in Paris, this free exhibition celebrates over 200 iconic bags, from legendary fashion houses to emerging designers.

Through a thematic and visual journey, it traces the evolution of the handbag as a fashion object. From oversized totes to minimalist clutches, each piece tells a story — of an era, a style, a statement.

For students in pattern making, textile design or fashion design, it’s a great opportunity to closely observe variations in shape, materials and finishes, while reflecting on the function and narrative role of this key fashion accessory. Both visually rich and easily accessible, this exhibition is the perfect way to start the year with fresh inspiration.

Dates & location: From September 4 to October 26, 2025. Free admission at the Printemps Haussmann, under the famous blue Art Deco dome – 75009 Paris.

“Louis Vuitton Art Déco” – LV Dream

To mark the 100th anniversary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts and Modern Industries, Louis Vuitton presents an immersive new exhibition inside its LV Dream space, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris.

Spread across eight thematic rooms, the exhibition showcases over 300 heritage pieces and rare archives. Leather, canvas, geometric lines and the Art Deco spirit interact in a carefully designed scenography. This exhibition explores the heritage and creative roots of the luxury house, its aesthetic innovations and collaborations with artists and fashion designers.

For students in fashion business or fashion marketing, it’s an inspiring way to see how a major luxury brand brings its legacy to life through visual storytelling. A museum-style yet forward-thinking exhibition that encourages reflection and creative thinking.

Dates & location: Starting September 26, 2025. Free admission with reservation, at LV Dream – 75001 Paris.

Paris Design Week – Czech Centre

As part of Paris Design Week 2025, the Czech Centre in the 6th arrondissement is hosting a series of free exhibitions combining textile, glass and contemporary design.

Designed as a sensory dive into a monochrome blue universe, the program highlights innovative installations such as Out of the Blue, a collective work by Marcel Mochal and Stanislav Holý in collaboration with students from Jan Evangelista Purkyně University, and the 3D-printed indigo-dyed textiles reimagined by designer Rozália Tóvaj.

It’s a valuable opportunity for students in textile design or art direction to explore hybrid creative processes that bridge traditional craftsmanship and modern technologies. These material experiments offer strong visual references for moodboards or future design concepts.

Dates & location: From September 5 to October 18, 2025. Free exhibition at the Czech Centre – 75006 Paris.

These exhibitions are an excellent way to explore new creative approaches and find inspiration to fuel your projects from day one. Stepping outside the classroom and into the world of fashion culture is also a powerful way to broaden your perspective and better understand the aesthetic and cultural issues shaping the industry today.
