The ranking of the best fashion schools in France

Posted on 26/05/2026

Choosing a fashion school is an essential step in building your future in a constantly evolving industry: fashion design, pattern making, fashion marketing, luxury, fashion communication or creative entrepreneurship.

With the wide variety of programs available (universities, specialized schools, business schools with fashion specializations), rankings can help compare institutions according to different objective criteria. They provide a useful first overview to identify the schools best suited to your professional goals.

Would you like to train for careers in fashion and luxury and are looking for a school? IFA Paris has gathered several rankings and distinctions from public sources to highlight recognized programs within the fashion industry.

What criteria should you use to compare fashion schools?

Fashion school rankings are generally based on several indicators used to evaluate the overall quality of an institution, including:

  • Recognition and reputation
The reputation of a fashion school among professionals, recruiters and students remains a key criterion. It reflects the credibility of the programs and their visibility in an industry where networking plays a major role.
  • Graduate employability
Employment rates after graduation, the quality of positions obtained and career progression are important indicators used to measure the effectiveness of a program.
  • International outlook
Programs taught in English, diversity of student profiles, semesters abroad and international partnerships all demonstrate a school’s ability to prepare students for careers in a global fashion industry.
  • Connections with industry professionals
Internships, hands-on projects, fashion shows, collaborations with brands and guest speakers from the industry: the more connected a school is to the fashion industry, the more operational skills its students develop.
  • Degrees and certifications
RNCP certifications, professional qualifications and academic recognitions guarantee the value of the programs and their recognition on the job market.

Why are rankings useful?

Rankings are a useful starting point for comparing fashion schools, but they should not be the only criterion when making a decision. Each student should also consider:

  • their professional goals
  • their desired specialization (fashion design, pattern making, marketing, luxury…)
  • the program format (full-time, work-study)
  • the school’s international outlook
  • the location and tuition fees

The ideal approach is therefore to combine rankings with other practical elements: program content, open day visits, student testimonials and professional experiences offered throughout the studies.

THE EDUNIVERSAL 2026 RANKING: THE BEST FASHION AND LUXURY PROGRAMS

Eduniversal publishes annual rankings of the best specialized Bachelor’s and MBA programs in France.

These rankings are based on several criteria used to assess program quality: program reputation, graduate salaries and student satisfaction.

The Bachelor Fashion Design ranked 1st in France

The Bachelor Fashion Design at IFA Paris ranked 1st in the “Fashion” category of the Eduniversal 2026 ranking of the best Bachelor's Degrees and Grandes Écoles.

This distinction highlights the program’s recognition among fashion industry professionals and showcases its creative and career-oriented approach.

The MBA Fashion & Luxury Marketing recognized in two rankings

The MBA Fashion & Luxury Marketing at IFA Paris ranks:

  • 3rd in the “Fashion Management” category
  • 13th in the “Luxury Management” category

These results confirm the program’s ability to train professionals ready to work in fashion marketing, luxury communication and brand development.

Awards that recognize creativity and innovation

Academic rankings are not the only indicators used to evaluate the quality of a fashion school.

Other awards also recognize student creativity, schools’ capacity for innovation and the quality of projects developed during the studies.

INfluencia Gold Award 2025

IFA Paris won the Gold Award at the Grand Prix des Écoles de Communication, de Création et de Commerce, organized by INfluencia, in the “Best Event / Commercial Support” category.

This distinction rewards the 2025 graduation fashion show “Rebooting the Archives”, an emblematic event that reflects the school’s creative, international and career-focused DNA.

The Grand Prix jury recognizes each year the most innovative projects developed by higher education institutions in the fields of creativity, marketing and communication.

Stratégies Gold Award 2026

IFA Paris was also awarded the Gold Prize at the 2026 Stratégies Awards in the category recognizing the most innovative creative initiatives in the education sector.

This award highlights the school’s commitment to pedagogical innovation and the preparation of future fashion professionals.

The graduation fashion show, at the heart of this distinction, showcases students’ ability to develop ambitious creative projects in conditions close to industry realities.

How to choose the right fashion school?

Rankings are useful benchmarks for comparing programs, but they should not be the only decision-making factor. Choosing a fashion school also means finding a program capable of supporting both your creative ambitions and professional goals.

Each student should consider:

  • the sector they are interested in (fashion, luxury, fashion communication, entrepreneurship…)
  • their target career (fashion designer, pattern maker, product manager, brand manager…)
  • the school’s international outlook
  • internship and hands-on project opportunities
  • the program structure and tuition fees

Beyond these criteria, a strong fashion school should enable students to:

  • develop strong creative and technical skills
  • build a professional network from the beginning of their studies
  • take part in hands-on projects and professional events
  • understand the evolution of the industry: digitalization, changing consumer expectations, sustainability, innovation and artificial intelligence applied to fashion

The ideal approach is therefore to combine rankings with practical elements: program content, meetings with faculty teams, alumni testimonials and immersion during open days.
