On April 22nd 2021, the lights went up and the curtains drew open for the first demo day at Foundry Powered by IFA Paris. Beamed live around the world straight from the fashion tech lab in Paris, the event saw 7 early-stage fashion tech startups pitch to an audience of tech enthusiasts. The lineup included:
Biz B: Pakistan’s premiere resale platform for Asian & Western fashion.
Roundrack: Sustainable fabrics sourcing tool with inbuilt sustainability verification.
The Retouch: Online garment alteration & repair service.
LaunchMart: No design skills needed garment design and prototyping platform.
T-Fashion: AI trend forecasting and analytics platform in real-time.
Stylé: Virtual try-on solution using real-time digital fashion.
Krippit: 3D printed footwear accessories made with zero waste.
Within 3 minutes, the startups had to convince the audience, which included international investors, that their solution is going to take off. The founders took us on a journey of industry challenges such as overconsumption and poor retail experiences, captivated us with their technical products and won us over with their innovative solutions. The teams at Foundry, IFA Paris & Beyond Form are extremely proud of all the startups that presented. They showed, that despite a global pandemic happening, entrepreneurship can still thrive.
