90 Minutes Art Project at Arter Gallery

At IFA Paris, we are true believers that fashion is a form of art. History shows us great examples of fashion designers working together with famous artists. Take for example Elsa Schiaparelli in the 30s collaborating with surrealist artists as Salvadore Dali or Jean Cocteau, to design clothes and accessories, amongst which the famous lobster dress or the hat in the form of a high-heeled shoe turned upside-down.

With this in mind, and under the supervision and directions of Asli Jackson, a renowned Turkish fashion designer, our students enjoyed a trip to the famous Arter Gallery in their brand-new building in Istanbul.

Students were invited to scroll through the gallery’s different exhibitions, interacting with the designs showcased and sharpening their observation skills to develop their imagination.

Visual art is a limitless source of inspiration for fashion designers. Educating fashion students to develop their observation skills is a priority at IFA Paris as it will invite them to think out of the box and create one of a kind designs.

Created in 2007, Arter has been collecting and caring for contemporary works of art, engaging in their creative interpretation through and favoring unconventional formats. A place of choice for any art lover.
