For the 2nd year in a row, Filmar, a cotton-based yarns producer, encouraged and motivated a selected group of students, from fashion and design schools from all over the world, to develop innovative creative proposals in terms of yarn colours according to specific seasons. This was organised on the occasion of the Pitti Filati at Florence, an international rendezvous for the textile and knitwear industry, where new fashion and lifestyle trends are launched.
The selection process took into account the following criteria:
- Team work (the proposed mood board and color palette was realized by a group of students)
- Originality and creativity of the mood board
- Representation of selected colors in mood board
- Selected colors follow the main color trends defined internally
One 1st year student from IFA Paris’ Bachelor in Fashion Design & Technology, Luke Smit from South Africa, was selected and came up with a range of vibrant colours. As a finalist, he has been featured in the new Colorama Book (download it here).
Congratulations to Luke!
