IFA’s students of MBA Luxury Brand Management visited Shanghai Hermès Maison few days ago. A top experience.
The field trip started with an introduction of the Hermès brand in China, then continued with an organized store tour led by their employees, a presentation of Hermès heritage and products, and a questions & answers session. Students were welcomed and led by the service manager Aaron Sun, for an instructive tour.
From the elaborate handcrafted leather equestrian equipment and bags to clothes and fashion jewelries, Mr. Sun gave students a detailed presentation of the uniqueness of Hermès products, design practice and manufacturing. By visiting the tailoring rooms, students have been offered the opportunity to discover the alteration process and to understand how detail-oriented technicians work and the outstanding after-sale service the brand is committed to deliver to customers.

During the tour, students showed their curiosities by raising questions about product sustainability and intellectual property rights in China. Hermès experts shared their insights with a focus on how to deal with counterfeiting and intellectual property infringements.
Finally students observed the exhibition studio on top floor, explored how Hermès displays their exhibition in events and how their distinctive services to VIP customers stands out. Hermès Maison experts expressed how impressed they were by IFA Paris students passion for Hermès brand value and looked forward into future cooperation with them ! Overall, the MBA Luxury Brand Management students had “a fantastic experience with Hermès Maison and gained insightful knowledge of high-end luxury brand in China.”
