At the end of June, IFA Paris organized a fashion show of the 3rd year students of Bachelor Fashion Design and Technology at Galerie Colbert, situated in the heart of the French capital. At this annual event, thirteen young designers out of 23 were selected by a jury to show their collections of minimum of four outfits. Once the show was ended, all eyes turned to Jean-Marc Chauve, the director of IFA Paris, who was going to announce which one of the participating students would be the winner of IFA Paris annual competition and thus win a one-year scholarship to pursue his or her studies in the program of Postgraduate Contemporary Fashion Design. Surprise! This year for the first time, not one but three students have been awarded. Adjoa Phillips, Moa Zhang and Valentine Metzger have all earned the possibility to extend their studies at IFA Paris next year.

The three winners, who have spent the past few months working on their final collections, are now getting ready to begin a new kind of academic experience at the beginning of fall. And just as their collections were very different from each other, every one of the three young designers has different expectations and ideas of their upcoming postgraduate studies. We asked the three of them to share their impressions on the outcome of the competition, as well as their plans for the future.
