It is very common top hear in France that Mademoiselle Coco Chanel gave French women their flare for fashion while Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent gave them their independence.
The artist behind the many classics such as the Saharienne, the Mondrian Dress or the Smoking for Women, is celebrated in Shanghai through a beautiful photo exhibition.
IFA Paris, the iconic fashion school who is the representative of French Couture and Art de Vivre in China, was invited to celebrate the career of Monsieur Saint Laurent by attending the “Yves Saint Laurent, Birth and Farewell of Legend” Photo Exhibition organized by Bund 18.
The organizer explained IFA Paris students that the 1st part of the photos are very precious files that are records Yves Saint Laurent’s early fashion sketches. They depict Mr. Saint Laurent working in a very small studio while he was establishing the YSL Empire’s legacy. All the black and white photos were taken by Mr. Pierre Boulat.
The 2nd part of exhibition is displayed through electronic images. The collection of digital pictures was shot by Mr. Pierre Boulat’s Daughter, Alexandra Boulat. It records the new age and development of the YSL brand.
IFA Paris students felt very privilege to be told the story of such an iconic figure of French Fashion. Monsieur Saint Laurent is a great source of inspiration; he is revered and respected by all of our students.
The YSL exhibition is one of the many off campus activities organized through the industry network of IFA Paris. Stay tuned for more information on our off-campus activities.
