It was a beautiful collaboration between fashion school IFA Paris and legendary French sneaker brand Bensimon as well as the magazine Milliennials.
Bensimon was created in 1978 by the Bensimon brothers and has been offered in many different colours on different models since then, such as the iconic and original tennis shoes with and without laces, the elastic ones, the high shoes, or the limited editions…
Bensimon had the idea of organizing this project with the supervision of Serge Bensimon himself, the Co-Founder and owner of the brand, with a simple objective: give the chance to young and aspiring designers to come up with their own shoe design, the design of their dreams. A great opportunity for the IFA Paris Bachelor in Fashion Design & Technology students.
38 students of the Bachelor in Fashion Design & Technology 1st year program, from both the Paris and Shanghai campuses participated in developing their ideas and original creations. Through the conception of a mood board introducing their concept, the realization of their technical files with the ideas, colour scheme and inspirations, the result was the creation of a unique and iconic model of customized Bensimon tennis sneakers.
All the creations were then presented to a jury, composed of Bensimon Managers and a journalist from Millennials magazine, who selected three finalists on April 5th on the Paris campus. Brazilian student Ana Victoria Mendes Lourenco won the contest and the award of the most outstanding creation.
Her design will be featured together with the other two finalists in the magazine Millennials to be published in May!
