On June 15th at IFA Paris, five fashion industry professionals gathered for an extremely important event for the Bachelor in Fashion Design & Technology students: the evaluation of their final collection. The jury had two missions: judge the competencies acquired throughout the three years of their studies through the professionalism in the realization of the garments and the originality of the portfolio of each student as well as choosing the collections which were creative, innovative and personal enough to take part in the fashion show organized by IFA Paris to take place on June 26th during the Paris Fashion Week.
This year, the jury was comprised of the following members:
- Isabelle Wagner, Photo Stylist and Fashion Journalist for Vogue Paris & Version Femina
- Elisabeth Curtaud, Founder and Director of the trend consulting agency "Demain la Maison"
- Karen Topacio, IFA Paris alumna & Artistic Director of her own brand "Karen Topacio"
- Tipayahong Poosanaphong, Founder and Artistic Director of the fashion house of the same name
- Jean-Marc Chauve, Artistic Director of IFA Paris
During the presentations of the collections by the students, Elisabeth Curtaud was particularly receptive to the modernity and consistency of the projects presented. Isabelle Wagner enjoyed the concepts and storytelling of each collection, while Tipayaphong Poosanaphong was focusing on the technical realizations and the commercialization potential of each garment. For Karen Topacio and Jean-Marc Chauve, it was the personal and innovative aspect of the collection that got their attention.
After an intense day full of presentations and discussions, all the students of the 2017 Bachelor in Fashion Design & Technology final year class who presented their work saw their collections validated and therefore will be graduating. Nine collections were selected for fashion show that concludes their studies at IFA Paris. Nine exceptional collections that we’ll be able to discover on June 26th on the runway at our Graduation Fashion Show at la Maison des Metallos…
